Trump's Organization Attempted to Hire Nearly 200 Employees on Work Permits in 2025

The former president’s corporate entity accelerated its hiring of foreign workers on temporary visas this period, while his government was placing obstacles for other businesses wanting to do the same, a report published Thursday stated.

Based on data from the federal labor department, the business aimed to bring in at least 184 foreign workers in the coming year for temporary positions at the former president’s Florida property, two golf clubs and his Virginia winery.

The quantity of requests for temporary work visas for staff including servers, clerks, housekeepers, culinary employees and farm workers was the record submitted by the organization, and increased from over 120 in 2021, when his presidency ended.

It was also the fifth time in a decade that Trump had sought to bring in more than 100 overseas workers for seasonal jobs at Mar-a-Lago, according to available data.

The revelation comes amid a crackdown on legal immigration by his administration that has included the implementation of a substantial charge on skilled worker visas; extra scrutiny of the actions of the 55 million people who possess US visas; and restrictive new rules for international scholars and journalists.

In total, the business aimed to hire 566 overseas workers over the five years Trump has been in the presidency, from his first term and during the upcoming year.

Notably, the former president was criticized by certain in the GOP this period for remarks justifying the need for foreign workers when a company was unable to find people with “particular skills” to fill particular roles.

“You cannot just say a nation is entering, going to invest $10bn to construct a plant, and going to take people off an jobless roster who haven’t worked in years, and they’re going to start making their defense systems. It doesn’t work that effectively,” he told a host after it was implied that foreign workers undercut the pay of US workers.

The White House declined a inquiry for comment, and the business did not immediately respond to an request for information.
