David Walliams dropped by book publisher.
Acclaimed writer for children and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.
A spokesman for the company stated: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."
It has been reported that the conclusion was taken subsequent to an inquiry regarding reports of inappropriate behaviour towards female individuals.
The company declined to specify the reasons for its decision, noting: "We refrain from speaking about internal matters."
A Highly Successful Publishing History
Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, having sold over six tens of millions of copies internationally in dozens of tongues.
His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.
Several of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into TV movies.
To date, he has released in excess of 40 works in total, which features a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE in 2017 honoring his contributions to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.
The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss in October.
