The Kansas City Chiefs issued a statement on Wednesday evening stating they are aware of claims of abuse made public in social media posts by a former girlfriend of wide receiver Rashee Rice and had been in communication with the league office.
The organization did not mention the player by name in their statement and noted they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

The woman, who also did not mention the athlete by name, shared a series of photos on social media that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. She did say the person involved was the father of her children, and it is known she has two children with the football player, whom the Chiefs drafted in the 2023 draft.
Police Reports Reportedly Not on File
No police reports were available in Overland Park, Kansas where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.
Rice's Prior Off-Field Troubles
Rice was absent for the first six games of this NFL campaign following an league-mandated ban for his involvement in instigating a multi-vehicle accident on a Texas roadway that left several individuals hurt. He was sentenced a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after pleading guilty to felony charges.
Statistically, Rice concluded the season with 53 receptions for 571 yards and five TDs as the Kansas City went 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first occasion in a decade.
