On Monday, Leicester Crown Court was told phone records and information recovered from phones logged Ms Wandelt consistently demanding Madeleine's mother for a DNA test during the past two years.

Madeleine's vanishing in 2007 - as a three-year-old during a family holiday in Portugal - is among the most covered investigations and continues to be unsolved.

'I Am Not Seeking Money'

A separate voicemail, played in court, captured Ms Wandelt declaring: "I know I'm fat and plain like Madeleine used to be, but I feel what I believe."

While a separate message of Ms Wandelt's recordings with Mrs McCann's recording stated: "Suppose there is a tiny probability that I am Madeleine? Then what? Isn't that crucial for you?"

"I am not seeking money, I have a life here in Poland, I only wish to know," she added.

The panel was advised that via electronic messages, mobile messages and calls, Ms Wandelt requested a biological test, forwarded early photographs to her phone in a attempt to display a similarity to Mrs McCann's missing daughter, and asserted to have "recollections" from a childhood with the McCanns.

The investigator, a data specialist with law enforcement who collated the data, advised the court there "seemed to lack any answers" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt also reached out to family friends of the McCanns, according to the phone records.

On October 9th, 2024, Mr McCann answered a phone call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, saying she had "the wrong phone."

On that occasion Ms Wandelt left a recording on Mrs McCann's recording stating "I will continue and I plan to establish my point."

The court was informed Mrs Spragg struck up a relationship via internet with Ms Wandelt preceding assisting her on a visit to the McCanns' property in the county in that winter.

Call logs demonstrated Mrs Spragg had reached out through messaging service to Mrs McCann to say the media had depicted Ms Wandelt as "mentally unstable" but that she should be considered genuine in the period before the visit to Rothley, the county, in last December.

The court heard communications between the two defendants, in last November, planning trying to acquire Mrs McCann's genetic material from her bins or from cutlery at a restaurant.

"We have to assert ourselves," the co-defendant told Ms Wandelt.

On the night of the appearance to their home, the defendant sent a communication which stated: "We're currently sitting adjacent to the McCanns' house with our lights out resembling private investigators. I desired to accomplish this with Peter Andrew I didn't imagine I would be involved in this with the McCanns."

The proceedings ongoing.
